Wheel Care Starts by Identifying the Contamination

Brake dust, iron particles, mineral deposits and greasy road film do not respond to the same cleaner. A good wheel and tire care routine begins by choosing the correct wheel cleaning chemistry for the contamination, rather than using the strongest chemical every time.

Good Stuff covers the complete wheel and tire process: Iron Remover for metallic fallout and brake dust, Wheel Cleaner Acid for mineral deposits and neglected aluminum rims, Wheel Cleaner Alkaline for grease and oily road film, Tire & Rubber Cleaner for removing old dressing and preparing rubber, and Tire Dressing MAT or SHINE for the final protected finish.

Acid vs Alkaline Wheel Cleaner

Both are concentrated wheel cleaners, but they target different contamination. Choose acid for mineral deposits and neglected rims; choose alkaline for grease, oily film and everyday road grime.

Wheel & Tire Care Questions

Iron remover or wheel cleaner: which should I use?

Use Iron Remover for embedded metallic particles and brake dust. Choose Wheel Cleaner Acid for mineral deposits and heavily neglected rims, or Wheel Cleaner Alkaline for grease, oily road film and general wheel dirt.

What is the difference between acid and alkaline wheel cleaner?

Acid cleaner is designed for mineral buildup, heavy brake dust and stubborn contamination. Alkaline cleaner is better suited to greasy grime, oily residue and traffic film.

Can Wheel Cleaner Acid be used on aluminum rims?

Yes. It is developed for aluminum rims and wheel caps, but it must be diluted correctly, used on cool surfaces, tested first and rinsed before it dries.

How do I remove baked-on brake dust?

Start with Iron Remover for metallic contamination. If neglected rims still have heavy brake dust or mineral deposits, move to the appropriately diluted Wheel Cleaner Acid.

Why should I clean tires before applying dressing?

Dirt, old dressing and road residue prevent the new product from bonding evenly. Tire & Rubber Cleaner creates a clean surface for a more uniform and durable finish.

Tire Dressing MAT or SHINE: which finish should I choose?

Choose MAT for a natural satin or OEM-style appearance. Choose SHINE for a darker, glossier wet-look finish with stronger visual impact.

Can I use wheel cleaner on hot wheels?

No. Apply wheel chemicals only to cool surfaces, avoid direct sunlight and never allow the product to dry before rinsing.

How often should wheels and tires be cleaned?

Clean them during regular maintenance washes. Stronger acid cleaning and full iron decontamination should be used only when the actual contamination requires it.

Choose the Cleaner by the Dirt

Iron for metallic fallout, Acid for mineral buildup, Alkaline for greasy grime, Tire Cleaner for preparation, then MAT or SHINE for the final finish.
